It's Saturday......Time to relax and just chill........Err No!!

Shikamoo!    Ni siku nzuri sana!
(you may wish to Google it 😎)

Just a little update from me to you about how it's all going.

Well this week has been uber busy in Uni' - and fair play because you don't get degrees free with your Frosties, do you?!?

That said I do believe that I have caught up with all my directed study...YAY!
Well I believe I have, no doubt I will check it out and see that I have missed one item. However, for now I am relishing the thought that I am up to date.

So, today I thought that I would do a little bit of A&P revision. They entitle it a "quiz". Makes it sound fun and kinda mysterious.....yeah right! A couple of hours later I finish it - phew. One large mug of coffee for me then ☕... another?...oh, go on then...☕spoil me πŸ˜ƒ why not?

Oh sorry, for those of you that don't know what A&P is, it's the subject of anatomy and physiologyπŸ’€πŸ‘‚πŸ‘ƒπŸ‘€πŸ‘…πŸ’“πŸ’ͺ😷.  Remember that lesson you did in school and either loved it or hated it? Yes, well this is it. Now, I happen to like it, a lot (yeah, ok its geeky) but trying to remember everything is a sod, because our bodies are complex bits of kit, with complex systems.

Let me try and explain....

Its a bit like a brand new modern, fancy fandango car with knobs and other bits to twiddle with (behave - I saw you giggling at the back there😜).

So, this car, you know how to drive it, fuel it, tax & insure it and get it checked for its yearly review and all that jazz. However, one peep below the bonnet and we all shrink away and seek expert help cos its all confusing with us going "what the hell is this bit for!!

Back in the day, you'd speak to the family member who knew 'a bit about cars' and they give the ol' "hmmm" and "ahhh", say what they think it is, read up in the Haines Manual and then fix it. It was a case of Bob's your uncle and Charlie's your aunt and all's right with the world; the job was a goodun'.

Now, see, the human body don't come with no Haines Manual so we student nurses have to learn A&P πŸŽ“ It will allow us to peek below the proverbial bonnet and have a bloody good idea whats going on.
If a major fix is required, we call the mechanics - better known as doctors and/or surgeons 😎

There we go, some education for you too - good huh?

OK, so what else has happened this week to tell you about?

We received a freebie through the post that caused much hilarity (hang on , no I can't tell you about that one...it's a bit risque) - it was very funny though πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Oh yes, the 3 cats have been to the vets - all okay just their J.A.B.S. (ssshh they don't like them!)

The most important bit of the week has been replying to emails, expressing my many thanks for the donations already received. I feel it's important to say thank you for the support, kindness and generosity shown, and well, just plain and simple good manners in fairness.

What else?

Oh yes, of course, I spoke to my Dad as it's his birthday today (32 years old apparently!! πŸ˜‰)

πŸ°πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆ  XX - HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD -  XX  πŸŽˆπŸŽ‚πŸ°

"What about elective news?" I hear you say...well...

I have received more donations this week, for my elective, with the promise of more to come. This has been both in terms of cash donations and products. People are so very kind.

My admin has been working his little heart out, bless him, sending emails far and wide. He's very clever and no, I wont be sharing him with anyone for their elective. Sorry about that but he's mine 😊

I still have lots to do before my elective and need to get some work done for my Work the World timeline too.

However, I think that given that I have spent almost all day on this computer, I think it could be time for...........wait for it...........COFFEE ☕...☕...☕ ....Ha! who knew?!?

Thank you for reading my blog.

I hope you enjoy your tea or coffee or whatever you are drinking these days.

All revved up & nowhere to go......yet! :-)

Jambo! dear readers 😊

I have had my coffee ⚡and am ready n raring to go πŸ‡πŸ‡.

Stone me, its been a sod of a week. Still being busy keeps me out of trouble πŸ˜‡

As you may be aware, those kind people over at Sports Direct allowed me have Norwich's version of supermarket sweep and get some much needed gear for the elective. Chuffin' marvellous it was πŸ˜„

So I  was stunned yesterday in Sports Direct, when I get a personal shopper by way of the assistant manager Paul. I don't think there is one single product there that he doesn't know about! Poor bloke even carried the goods for me. All I had to do was say what I wanted to look at next, and would I like that in any other colour etc. Spoilt I was, I won't lie to you. See the piccies below - that paparazzi admin gets everywhere!! πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

Sports Direct have really been very kind and generous and between them, Clothing for Work and HappyThreads I am now fully sorted for work-wear scrubs & free time clothing and footwear. As the saying goes, winner, winner, πŸ—πŸ— dinner.

So Saturday began with meeting Paul, the assistant manager at the Norwich Chapelfield Sports Direct store.

πŸ’Hmmm...shoes, comfy feet...."yes please" πŸƒ
"Well yes the black would be a sensible colour for the wards I think"
"Ooo insoles you say?"
πŸ’even more comfort?
"deffo yes please on that one"

So there I am trying on different styles of footwear. With Paul diligently fetching me the required size and offering loads of advice πŸ’¬ about how well they breathe or don't breathe.

Paul was able to advise me & help select products
that would help me keep cool & protected in Tanzania.

Paul kindly kept an eye on the running totals for me.

I am not one for taking centre stage in anything but this was a case of needs must.

Come on...someone had to do it...and it was me πŸ‘Ό. Admit it...you're jealous 😎

It was a really brill' day and I had so much help.I am truly sorted now thanks to having the clothing supplied for me.

You will recall I mentioned my admin or rather, paparazzi?

Well, my trusty admin had been in touch with Water-to-Go explaining the situation with water etc. in Tanzania and before I knew it Kyle at Water-to-Go had said they'd like to sponsor me and help ensure the risk from waterborne ucky-pucky's and bugs are totally minimised!!

Check this bit of kit out in this video.
Pretty damn cool if you ask me. →→→→→→

I was stunned (yes, I changed me wording! fed up with gobsmacked and speechless!) when I could see how this could help keep me safe!
Oh, and before you even think it, no I'm not being paid to advertise this or any other product! 😘.

I can't wait to try this out! Not sure I want to try it with mucky water like that what's shown tho'.

Seriously though, the chemistry behind it is beyond me but the idea and practice is that it  removes 99.99% of nasties  & microbiological ucky-pucky's from the water making it safe for me to drink. This means I can drink tap water or river water instead of having to rely on bottled water all the time. This combined with the vaccines I have to have to have prior to going will really give me some serious peace of mind and help keep me safe too.

After seeing in India, the colossal amount of waste from bottles being thrown away this also means I can do my bit to save at least 3 bottles a day (min 63 bottles over elective - see how it mounts up and that is one hell of a lot of plastic that just me alone generates)  being dumped in landfill in Africa πŸ’šπŸ‘ΌπŸŒπŸ’š.

Ah hello...you are still here?
Cool πŸ˜‹just checkin'.
Did you just answer "yes" to that question then?
Lol...okay 😜

Anyways, moving swiftly on...

Now, you and I like a good deal as much as the next person, right?

Well, Kyle knows this too, and he also knows that staff in the NHS work hard and in some very difficult situations. So, by way of passing on his thanks, his respect and appreciation to those in the NHS, he has kindly said that we can share a discount code with you 🎈 πŸŽ‡ πŸŽ† πŸŽ‰ πŸ†

As I say, it's a sign of his and respect for the work nurses do πŸ˜·πŸš‘

If you're NHS then you get 25% off!

If you would like the code then drop me a message with your NHS email address in it and I will send the code back to you.

Seems the best and fairest way of doing it. As if I put the code here then it's possible that every netizen around the globe will use it saying they're NHS when they may not be and, well, that just doesn't seem fair to Kyle and the Water-to-Go kindness.

                                                                                   In other important news......

Claire from Clothing for Work has been in touch and they have supplied me with scrubs. Yay, woohoo.

I tried them on as you do and they're brilliant. A smashing fit, plenty of room for air to circulate too. Life will be comfortable from that aspect.

Happy Threads and Heather have also supplied me some scrubs to go with. These too are very comfortable and will make working in the heat and humidity that much more bearable for me.

I must say that although this blog post seems to be advertising lots of companies, I am sure you will understand that I just need and very much want to be able to say a huge thank you publicly.

I know that I use the word humbled an awful lot but it's true, I am.  I just think it would be rude to not say thank you and pass on my thanks all the companies listed here and on the website, that have sponsored my elective.

I must also say a big thank you to my admin'. Without him, I would not even be blogging to you all or posing on me website!! He is my rock and a bloomin' IT genius.

That's gotta be worth a coffee? ☕right?? 😜 (admin note: she did make the cuppa! )

Anyways, πŸ’€ night night πŸ’€ and pleasant dreams πŸ’€.
